Perry Russell's 60th Birthday Session

I have always believed that beautiful things can come from even our worst experiences. So it's best to make the best of things when they aren't going your way and keep your head up. Working with Perry Russell for his 60th birthday reinforced that for me as a Charleston photographer.

How did we meet? Well, after I had an accident in 2021, I was his patient! So I was so excited when he got in contact with me to celebrate his 60th birthday. Russell is a calm and easygoing guy who also loves running and working out.

Perry Russell's birthday was on the 17th of October, and he looked wonderful for his birthday. I had a lovely time documenting him during this special milestone. Below, I talk a bit more about why birthday sessions are so important and show you what Mr. Russell had to say about us working together.

Birthdays are good times that we share with each other. They usher in a new year in your life with lots of new experiences. A birthday session helps you preserve this special moment for life. And I am not just talking about regular old phone pictures; I am talking about detail-oriented pieces you will always cherish.

Birthday sessions also give you the opportunity to get a super cool photo you can share with loved ones and on social media. They are also an opportunity to distress and reconnect with your inner self. I also make my sessions a safe space, which is how I learned that Mr. Russell hopes to travel the world one day and thinks the world would be a better place if everyone had love for each other.

For Mr. Russell, surviving COVID-19 was a big achievement, and I totally agree. I say this as an individual and a business person. He also shares that having family and loved ones around is what made his birthday really special. His best time of the previous year was getting to reconnect with coworkers he hadn't seen for over ten years.
