- Introduction:
One thing I love about being a photographer in South Carolina is the ease with which you could just head out for a beautiful shoot, learn new things and have fun on a scenic sunny day. South Carolina is full of many beautiful locations where you can find more than enough enchanting photographic opportunities. It was on one of such perfect days that I did the maternity Photo session for Sharon and Josh. Here’s a low down of how the day went, the many things that we did and some nice words from Sharon herself chronicling her pregnancy experience.
- From Sharon:
This is my first child that I am expecting and I am more excited about this than I have ever been about anything in my life. I am having a baby girl and she is the biggest blessing in my life this moment. I’ve heard that children change our lives and make it better in more ways than we can count. I can’t wait to have my little bundle of joy.
- Breaking the News:
The very first people that we let know that we were expecting were our parents. My fiancé and I gladly shared the happy news with them. After that, we told our siblings, cousins, and friends too. Months later we then shared the good news in public by putting it on Facebook. Everyone has been happy and supportive about it and we’re grateful.
- The Pregnancy:
This is my first baby and I’m happy to say that there was no hard part of my pregnancy. My fiancé and I went through lots of names before deciding to call our baby daughter “Journee”. We named her Journee because she is our first Journey. We’re looking forward to happier experiences in the future.
- About the Shoot
Sharon and Josh’s Maternity shoot was divided into two parts. First, we headed over to Sharon’s mom’s house in Dorchester for a sunflower milk bath. A sunflower milk bath is a kind of portrait photography. It is perfect if you like dreamy portraits. The white from the milk is associated with softness and purity and does wonders with highlighting the expectant mother’s features and making her the focus. The sunflowers serve as props to perfect the picture and look.
After the sunflower milk bath at her mom’s house, we headed over to Azalea Park where we took the pictures for the mom and dad session. Azalea park is a peaceful oasis in the middle of a busy, growing town. It has acres and acres of beautiful green foliage, lovely butterfly ponds and many other details that make it a photographic paradise. So, as you can guess and see, Sharon and Josh’s maternity session photos came out stunning! Like I said earlier, this was one day where I had fun, shot beautiful pictures and enjoyed nature. Thank you for choosing to work with me, Sharon and Josh!
