Courtney And Jeff | The Gathering | 3/21/2020
I covered Courtney and Jeffery’s wedding at the Gathering on March 21st. The weather was sunny and the day was beautiful. This helped bring together what was an eclectic, rustic wedding in the best of atmospheres. It’s a wedding the guests will be talking about for a while as everything was perfect. Their first dance song was “Better Together” by Luke Combs and the couple and their wedding party looked amazing in the colors they’d chosen. I had such a great time covering this wedding.
- How Did They Meet?
Courtney and Jeffery’s love story began when they met each other at a Colt Ford Concert one night. It must have been a great meeting because they’ve been together since that night.
- The First Look
The first look is the instant a couple first locks eyes on their big day and is incredibly romantic. It was no different for Courtney and Jeff as you’ll see from the pictures below. I'm not crying, you're crying...
- The Wedding
Courtney and Jeffery’s wedding took place in Dorchester, South Carolina at The Gathering. It was a great day because not only was the weather perfect and sunny, the atmosphere was amazing and everything was so laid back and fun. The Gathering is a beautiful wedding venue with an amazing ceremony space and a picturesque pond behind.
The wedding theme was fun, casual and intimate with the groomsmen wearing navy suits with plum vest and bow ties. The bridesmaids were garbed in beautiful plum dresses with a lace cut out on the side. The couple had a sand ceremony and also had a remembrance table to honor their loved ones who had passed and thus could not be there that day. In a sand ceremony, the officiant says a few words about the significance of the ceremony and then hands the couple a vase of colored sand each. The groom then starts by pouring his sand into a central vase forming a layer. Next, the bride pours her sand into the central vase also forming a second layer. It is a unique way to symbolize 2 lives becoming one in a wedding ceremony.
- From The Couple
Our wedding day was amazing and a dream come through. Being able to say I do and marry your best friend is not something many couples are lucky enough to do so we’re thankful. It is a memory that will stay with us for a very long time. We chose the Gathering for our wedding venue because we had been there before and loved it. We especially liked the beautiful private pond behind. Ray was an amazing photographer! He had so much patience and the best attitude the whole time. He came through for our wedding on March 21st when a lot of people canceled and we can’t thank him enough. We would definitely recommend him to anyone and will use again for sure.
- What Stood Out About Your Wedding?
The thing that stood out about our wedding was definitely the remembrance table. It had such a special place in our hearts as a couple. The decorations were really wonderful with the centerpieces bringing together the whole look in a very elegant way. It was nice having our loved ones who had passed on and could not be there physically, still present with us through the remembrance table.
- How Did I Do At Courtney And Jeffrey Wedding?
I loved it actually. The Gathering is a hidden gem of a location and it was beautiful to see Courtney and Jeffery’s love story hit this new milestone here. It was also great how they personalized their ceremony by adding a sand ceremony and choosing to remember their loved ones that had passed and could not be there with them.
