When Danaezha’s mom called me about this shoot, I had no idea she actually knew me. As we took a walk discussing the shoot, she asked if I knew her. I said I had no clue. She then asked if my Dad’s name was Sinclair Ray. Taken aback, I responded yes. Turns out her and her mom knew me and my dad. She reminded me of when I sang on the choir as a child. We used to go to the same church. She even said they might be able to find pictures of that time! It’s always nice to be reminded how far we’ve come every once in a while. She told her mom that little Delmar is not little anymore, he’s a grown man now.
Danaezha Wade her daughter is a senior at Fort Dorchester High School. She’s the one I took photos of and her pictures came out amazing. I spoke to her for a bit about school, fun memories and her plans after graduation.
- What Is Your Best Memory of School?
My best memory of school would be during my freshman year of high school. My cheer team and I qualified to compete at the South Carolina High School League (SCHSL) competitive state finals. That was the first time our school would be qualifying for that competition in 5 years. We were so excited and happy! We finished the competition 8th at the state levels which is the highest that any team from our school has ever finished to this day.
- What Is Craziest/ Funniest Moment You Had in School?
This one time at cheer camp, I and one of my teammates dressed up as cotton candy. I still giggle thinking about it. It’s a happy memory.
- What Are You Passionate About?
Well, my highest priority is to make my family proud. I am extremely meticulous over my academics. I also care a lot about the wellbeing of people around me.
- Plans After Graduation
I will be attending Alice Carson Tisdale Honors College of Claflin University. I plan on majoring in psychology. It’s my dream to become a clinical psychologist in the near future. Helping people has always been my passion.
- Any Encouraging Words for Upcoming Students?
I’d just like them to be aware that the hard times and hard work are temporary. Listen to your teacher and parents. Above all things, stay true to yourself. The day you walk across the stage will not only be a blessing to you but also to those in your supporting circle.
- How Did I Do at Danaezha’s Shoot?
It is always nice to capture young bright people who are hopeful and full of dreams. I loved doing this shoot and developing the pictures for it. If you’re looking for a photographer for your wedding, engagement, graduation or maternity shoot then I’m the guy for you. I handle shoots around Ridgeville and Charleston, South Carolina and would love to work with you. Give me a call today!
